On July 31st I departed the United States for a year-long journey across the world. After more than 24 hours of travel, I safely arrived in Gozo, Malta—a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea—and have since been enjoying the sights, history, and people.

During the trip from the airport to the flat, I was fortunate enough to have the company of Mary Jo, Walter, and Paul who provided detailed histories, personal stories, and anecdotes about many of the sights we passed.
My Morning in Gozo
This morning I toured Ta' Pinu—the Church of Miracles—with Mary Jo, Walter, and other residents of Il-Nadur (the village where I am staying in Gozo). On our way back, we stopped in for a tour of the Maltese Lace Museum. I was also fortunate enough to conclude the morning with a few games of Maltese Bingo!

I am so grateful and excited to be in Gozo. Soon, I will begin volunteering with Nature Trust Malta helping with community-based turtle nest patrol and guarding at local beaches. More soon!
