On the 5th of September, I was fortunate enough to visit an active citizen science project at the Via Pieve Bridge in Budrio, Italy. In January, 2022 a group of citizens came together to develop a plan to study the water quality of the Idice River. I documented the process—collecting the water sample and testing for turbidity, nitrate, and phosphorus—and talked to some of the citizen scientists about their motivations for participating in the project.
